At MacNair's, exploration takes centre stage, especially when it comes to rum. Master blender Billy Walker selects barrels from the Glenallachie Distillery in which he and his team marry and bottle this molasses rum. MacNairs Exploration Panama Rum - Unpeated is made from sugar cane molasses in Panama and is initially matured in American oak barrels. After maturing in the tropical climate of Panama, it is transferred to Scotland in the significantly cooler environment of Speyside. There, the rum is given a second maturation phase of two years in red wine casks, virgin oak casks and former bourbon casks from the Glenallachie distillery. In addition, no artificial colourings are used and no chill filtration is used.
