Each bottling over the coming years tells another chapter of the rich heritage of Ian Hunter, who was the last descendant of the Johnston family and ran the distillery from 1908 - 1944. The fourth release in this series includes a 34 year old Single Malt matured in ex-bourbon casks and finished in Oloroso sherry casks. With this bottling, Ian Hunter's story explicitly addresses the malt grounds essential to Laphroaig whiskies and how he established them at the time.
