Currach is a triple-distilled Irish Single Malt that was given a special finish after maturing in bourbon barrels. For this, the malt was transferred to fresh oak barrels, which were burnt with Atlantic Wakame Seaweed. Wakame is a special seaweed that thrives off the Atlantic coast of Ireland during the winter months and is often used as an ingredient in Asian cuisine due to its sweet and salty flavour. The special burn-out process of the barrels gives the whiskey its special flavour. The Single Malt is named after a time-honoured ship used by monks to explore unexplored lands.
