For the Dos Maderas 5+5 Triple Aged PX Rum, selected rums from Barbados and Guyana are matured for 5 years in American oak barrels in the Caribbean. The blend is then transported to Jerez in Andalusia to be aged for a further 3 years in high-quality Palo Cortado barrels using the Solera method. In the final phase, the rum is then aged for a further 2 years using the solera method in barrels filled with "Don Guido" - a 20-year-old Pedro Ximénez sherry (V.O.S.). Bodegas Williams & Humbert was founded in 1877 and is now owned by the second generation of the Medina family. The bodega is the largest in Europe and is home to over 50,000 American oak barrels for maturing sherry, brandy and rum. Four small miniatures of 2.2 cl each are included as a flavour sample.
