Rhum J.M is one of the oldest producers of Rhum Agricole on the island of Martinique, which belongs to the Lesser Antilles. The distillery is located at the foot of the Mont - Pelée volcano. The prevailing rugged landscape and the lush vegetation create ideal conditions for the cultivation of high quality sugar cane. The sugar cane harvest is crushed within an hour on the distillery premises and processed into sugar cane juice. The J.M.X.O. is matured for at least 6 years. Of these, it spent 5 years in re-burnt Bourbon barrels before resting for a further year in different sized and burnt casks.
