Hiernagla Torfaeus is a single malt from Norway. With a peat smoke content of 35ppm, the whisky is matured in ex-bourbon casks and finished in selected Pineau des Charentes casks. Pineau des Charentes is a liqueur wine from the town of Cognac in France. The bottling is the second of a total of five special releases from the Hiernagla distillery, which focuses on sustainability as well as small batches. For example, there is no outer packaging and instead a tree is planted for every litre of whisky sold.
